Maine residents are looking for Jobs…But Where? Great Falls Marketing in Auburn is Hiring

The slumping economy both nationally and locally has made it tough for residents in the State of Maine to find good paying jobs. 

Auburn, ME, September 4, 2009--Great Falls Marketing is an in-bound call center that answers sales calls for various clients and companies all across the United States as well as around the world.  President/CEO, Scott MacCheyne says, “In our line of business the amount of calls we receive can certainly vary from time to time.  This past year we have been successful keeping our pipeline filled with clients excited to use our services.  With that, we are in need of 50-60 new sales agents to help us answer the incoming calls we are forecasting.  We expect even more growth in 2010.”

Finding good paying jobs has been tough for many people in the State of Maine as well as nationally.  The Bureau of Labor Statistics report the National Unemployment Rate stands at 9.4% as of August 2009.  The State of Maine reports a lower Unemployment Rate at 7.9% as of July 2009.  Mary LaFontaine from the Career Center in Lewiston adds, “These percentages are low because they don’t take into consideration the many people who are not working and haven’t applied for unemployment benefits.  The job pool right now offers employers an incredible selection of potential new hires but on the other hand, those looking for jobs need to sharpen their skills.  It is great to see a company like Great Falls to continue hiring in the Lewiston/Auburn area.”

Tanya Veinott, Director of Sales at Great Falls Marketing says, “It is hard to find stable work that pays well in the Lewiston/Auburn area and Great Falls offers a great work environment where people can work part time or full time and average $15-20 per hour.  Our seasoned sales agents average $22-25 per hour.  Plus many of our sales agents have the opportunity to be promoted to management positions within Great Falls.”

The Maine Department of Labor reports that the Androscoggin County Unemployment Rate is a higher than the State average standing at 8.8% as of July 2009.  MacCheyne says, “When you look at the unemployment rate trend and how so many people in this area are struggling to get by, we are proud to offer jobs that can provide financial security for people right in Lewiston/Auburn area.  We expect to have well over 200 employees on staff including sales and administration positions by the end of 2009.”
